The Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers (DCJS) invite you to advertise as part of our on-line Holiday Concert on December 20, 2020. This concert will also be available for viewing, including Ad pages indicating your support for our organization, for several months after the debut of the concert on December 20. All Ad contributions of $100, or more, will be displayed as part of the concert presentation; contributions of $500, or more, will receive special acknowledgement as Major Sponsors.
Your ad will be seen by our ever-growing, enthusiastic audiences in Ithaca -- and around the world as a result of the on-line presentation this year. And your sponsorship clearly demonstrates your support of community building through music. DCJS was named in honor of the late Dr. Dorothy Cotton, civil rights pioneer and social justice advocate who worked closely with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and long-time Ithaca resident until her passing in 2018. Our chorus includes a diverse group of community members and college students and is directed by Dr. Baruch Whitehead, associate professor of music education at Ithaca College.
DCJS is dedicated to the preservation and performance of the Negro Spirituals, which were designated a National Treasure in 2007 by the U.S. Congress. This powerful music speaks to our American history and offers inspiration and hope today as it has for generations. Our ability to perform this music for in-person audiences has been restricted during most of 2020, so your support at any level is especially important in this time of pandemic restrictions on gathering.
